Come join us for a new national holiday called De-Sign Day where communities work together to build cool objects using up-cycled political yard signs. Austin is the epicenter of this new annual event where we see students and adults learn to use simple tools to build some very creative projects out of old political signs.

Where do political yard signs go after an election? What if, instead of sending those signs to the landfill they became raw material to build cool things? What if both the tools and building materials were provided in one place, along with guidance and insights from creative adults, to make you successful repurposing those signs into useful and inspiring hand-built projects?

Austin STEM Center is partnering with Build-A-Sign to host the largest De-Sign Day event yet at 11525 Stonehollow Drive near The Domain in Austin. All of the tools and materials you will need will be there. The goal of De-Sign Day is to publish and share the creative ways students and families in Austin find to up-cycle signs into creative projects.
